Job Summary:
The Director of Materials Management shall be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising the activities of the Hospital’s Material Management Department, including procurement of supplies, control of inventory, and review of material utilization. Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions 1. Manage department employees and resources in a cost-effective manner 2. Displays effective personal relationship and team building 3. Formulate, maintain, and assure ordering, issuing, and charging of supplies and equipment complies with policies and procedures. 4. Prepare Material Management Department budget. 5. Implement and direct effective cost control systems. 6. Coordinate with Huntsville Hospital System suppliers and vendors to establish and maintain adequate sources of supply. 7. Coordinate departmental activities and procedures with other Hospital departments and Medical Staff. 8. Assure material management complies with accreditation and licensure requirements. 9. Supervise and evaluate performance of the Material Management department. 10. Monitor the procurement of all supplies, equipment and services through a centralized purchasing process. Ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations and codes. 11. Perform vendor analysis and evaluations. 12. Review and make recommendations to all departments related to supplies and equipment. 13. Ensure supplies and services are delivered on time. 14. Provide accurate and timely information using discretion and protect confidentiality of information. .
Qualifications:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE A
minimum of five years experience in healthcare Materials Management is required with two years in a supervisory role. Proven experience with team building, development, and management.
