Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead and oversee materials operations at our automotive manufacturing facility in Vance, Alabama. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong background in automotive materials management, warehouse operations, and SAP WM module expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of 9 direct reports in a lean, just-in-time manufacturing environment. Oversee all materials handling activities including receiving, unloading, storage, and replenishment. Manage pre-production material control, scheduling, bill of materials coordination, and logistics. Monitor supplier shipment plans to ensure inventory levels meet production demands. Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies; maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and performance standards are met. Develop and maintain ethical supplier relationships to foster innovation and cooperation. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cycle time. Control departmental budgets and participate in budget planning and cost estimation. Conduct physical inventory audits and coordinate with accounting. Ensure compliance with TS16949 standards and internal procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and materials planning, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is required. Proficiency in SAP WM (Warehouse Management) module is mandatory. Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehousing operations, and manufacturing logistics. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
