Negotiation Full Job Description Strategic Planning & Optimization:
Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with the company’s manufacturing goals and overall business objectives. Continuously analyze and optimize transportation routes, warehousing procedures, and inventory control to minimize costs and maximize efficiency. Identify and implement new technologies and best practices to improve logistics performance.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels, prevent shortages, and minimize carrying costs. Implement and manage inventory control systems and procedures (e.g., FIFO, JIT). Coordinate with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials.
Transportation & Distribution:
Manage all inbound and outbound logistics, including freight forwarding, shipping, and delivery. Negotiate contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers to secure favorable rates and service levels. Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues or delays proactively. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and customs requirements.
Warehouse Operations:
Oversee the efficient operation of company warehouses or third-party logistics (3PL) providers. Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layouts, material handling processes, and safety protocols. Manage and optimize space utilization, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
Supplier & Customer Relationship Management:
Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of raw materials. Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer delivery expectations and resolve any logistics-related issues.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals (if applicable). Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations. Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and areas for improvement. Utilize data to identify trends, forecast demands, and make informed decisions .
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Implement and maintain safety protocols for all warehouse and transportation activities. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. 3 years of progressive experience in logistics management, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) Strong understanding of inventory management principles (e.g., lean manufacturing, JIT, MRP). Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, or CPIM are a plus. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s logistics operations, from raw material procurement to finished goods distribution. This role will focus on optimizing the flow of materials, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and ensuring customer satisfaction within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of successful logistics management.
