Marine Logistics Lead -Chartering & RiskWe’re looking for a strategic and detail-driven Chartering Specialist to manage vessel chartering from key U.S. Gulf ports (Tampa, New Orleans, and Galveston). In this role, you’ll collaborate across planning, production, distribution, and storage teams to align logistics with business goals, lead chartering strategy, manage freight risk within Mosaic’s position limits, and drive performance through the development and tracking of marine operations metrics.
What you’ll do: Manage Mosaic chartering by contracting freight with brokers and vessel owners to support Mosaic operations and sales ensuring compliance with internal policies and insurance requirementsLead vessel chartering strategy for by partnering with International Sales to identify and execute CFR opportunities that grow sales, optimize freight costs, and deliver added value through strategic part cargo combinations.
Manage Mosaic’s freight risk position by tracking long and short volumetric exposure and value at risk, ensuring alignment with MCRC Position Limits and providing clear visibility into company-wide freight risk.
Develop and track Marine Team performance metrics, collaborating with team members to identify new KPIs that drive continuous improvement and support business growthWhat you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree in intermodal transportation, marine logistics, or related2+ years experience in marine logisticsExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Able to utilize technology solutions to optimize supply chain situationsProject Management and CPM processFinance knowledgeMust be able to successfully navigate in crucial conversationsSolid leadership ability, excellent communicator. Negotiation skillsPassionate work ethic willing to assist teammates when assistance or coverage is required.
Satisfy supply chain performance metrics and customer service goals. Willing to take risks and to innovate new processes.
