Job Description

Manager, Distribution and Logistics Operations 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Bloomingdale, GA 31302 The Manager of Logistics & Distribution Operations is a pivotal role within our wholesale operation, responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from our warehouses to retailers. This position will have a strong focus on managing relationships with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers and optimizing the order management process to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in distribution management, 3PL collaboration, and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in fulfilling orders for large retail chains.

Responsibilities:

PL Management:

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with 3PL providers, ensuring they meet or exceed performance expectations in terms of cost, service, and compliance. Lead and manage 3PL Key Performance Indicators including establishing matrix by developing, monitoring, and analyzing KPIs related to the 3PL warehouse operation, including accuracy, efficiency, on-time delivery, and inventory management. Effectively manage daily escalations related to warehouse operations, including order fulfillment, inventory discrepancies, and delivery delays. Conduct regular performance reviews with 3PL providers and implement corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate with 3PLs to optimize warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation strategies. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in 3PL management to drive continuous improvement.

Order Management:

Oversee the entire customer order management process, from receipt of purchase orders to delivery confirmation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for customer order processing, fulfillment, and shipping. Leverage technology and data analytics to monitor order status, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address potential issues. Collaborate with OPS, Sales, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure seamless order execution and customer satisfaction. Develop strong partnerships with our customer base to ensure shipments always meet compliance requirements. Research and help to minimize all chargebacks related to shipments to customers.

Distribution Strategy:

Develop and implement a comprehensive distribution strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives. Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and network optimization. Stay informed about changes in the retail landscape and adjust distribution strategies accordingly.

Team Leadership:

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing distribution team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in distribution management, with a strong emphasis on 3PL relationships and order management. Proven track record of success in optimizing distribution operations and delivering results. Deep understanding of the wholesale industry and the specific requirements of retailers. Experience managing an eCommerce distribution operation, directly or through a 3PL. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP and WMS systems. Annual salary starting at $80,000. The disclosed salary range is commensurate with experience and does not reflect the total compensation package.
