Position PurposeSeeking world-class talent to jointhe world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrialreplacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S andCanada. Specifically, this role will function as Director of SupplyChain Technology Integrations and Development. The role will beresponsible for developing and leading one or more softwareengineering teams that own building and maintaining integrationsacross various Supply Chain Systems and developing in-houseapplications at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, you willplay a key role to build and run one of the world’s largestautomotive and industrial replacement parts operations.
The Directorof Supply Chain Technology Integrations and Development is a deepengineering expert in Supply Chain Technology. The ideal candidateis a thought leader around what is possible between customers,business, and technology. As an engineering leader, you willadvance and support one or more teams responsible for the design,development, and integration of various Supply Chain systems andapplications with a focus on continuous incremental business valuein an agile environment. This position will work to foster anenvironment that promotes DevOps philosophies that enable efficientsoftware deployments, high quality software, and empowers teams todo their best. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strongtechnical aptitude in leading application engineering anddevelopment with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead a teamof resources responsible for product delivery.
The individual willwork with senior leadership and other engineering and businessleaders in a thought leadership role driving technology roadmapsand solutions for Supply Chain Technology. Close collaboration andalignment with infrastructure, network, application developmentteams and security will be required. As such, exceptional abilitiesin building and maintaining strong working relationships andorganizational savvy will be required. High level communication andpresentation skills are required.
Responsibilities Develop and execute a systems integration strategy that alignswith GPC’s overall business goals. Oversee all aspects of systems engineering, including designand implementation for in-house Supply Chain applications. Establish clear goals, priorities and delivery roadmaps forintegration projects. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and application developers(on-shore and off-shore). Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of complex systemsintegration projects within Supply Chain. Stay current with latest trends and technologies in systemsintegration and application development. Manage relationships with vendors and partners involved inprojects. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of theorganization. Implement best practices and standards for systems integrationand application development. Simplify the complexity of current platforms and reduce thetechnical debt and total cost of ownership. Partner with peer leaders to accelerate and embed agilemethodologies across the organization to increase customer-backedproblem solving, to increase pace of solution delivery, toaccelerate innovation and to enhance cross-functionalcollaboration. Recruit, manage, and motivate a team of engineers andengineering managers to develop best-in-class solutions. Other duties as assigned.
Location GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlantaoffice. We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employeesto work a hybrid remote schedule.
Desired Qualifications &Experiences:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired throughthe completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degreein a field of study related to the job. 12+ years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in integrating packaged software (such as
WMS, OMS,TMS
) with legacy applications and building custom supply chainsolutions for retail or wholesale businesses. Industry recognition or significant expertise within the SupplyChain space. Mastery of vision, problem solving, innovation and distillingsimple actionable solutions. Mastery of working as an engineering leader in a modernsoftware development based enterprise environment and overseeingmultiple products/platforms. Mastery of modern software development methodologies. Mastery of working in a fast paced, fluid environment wherepriorities shift on a regular basis. Mastery in communicating with and influencing functional andtechnical team members at all levels in the organization. Mastery of working as part of a collaborative,cross-functional, modern software design and development team. Mastery of identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measureproduct/platform performance. Proficiency in managing performance and growing team members ina professional setting. Experience breaking down Monolithic architectures intomicroservices via Domain Driven Design. Experience developing on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, andAzure.
