Job Description
DSJ Global is partnered with a leading food and beverage distributor in the Atlanta, GA area and is hiring for an exciting Director of Logistics and Distribution opportunity! Our client is looking for an experienced individual with a background in both Logistics and Distribution within the food and beverage industry and experience with RFPs and vendor negotiation.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, align with leadership and implement the strategy for executing supply chain with high service standards at optimized costs
- Ensure the security of supply of products to restaurants through distribution network
- Develop a team of five to manage supply chain strategies
- Develop and foster 3PL business relationships with freight and distribution partners to execute supply chain strategies
- Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable tracking of cost and service drivers of freight and distribution management
- Develop and foster relationships with Procurement team to perform and support supplier optimization analysis and implement cost reduction results
- Perform distribution network cost optimization analysis
- Partner with affiliate holding company supply chains at Inspire Brands to explore logistics strategies and opportunities
- Ensure analysis of benchmarking are evaluated to ensure costs/services are competitive
- Ensure contract management lifecycle is being managed with adequate planning/execution of RFP’s
- Ensure disaster planning strategies are tested and evaluated for implementation
- Ensure performance of quarterly business reviews with follow-up of action items are conducted.
Requirements:
- BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience in distribution and logistics
- Advanced data analysis skills
- Microsoft Excel/Word/Power Point and Power BI experience, is a plus
- Demonstrate problem-solving and presentation skills
- Comfortable managing conflict resolution between partners
- Capable of operating with high initiative with hands-on, multi-tasking capabilities
- Operating with performance/results-oriented focus with a strong work ethic.
