Overview
The Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for managing logistics planning, optimization, and operations in efforts to reduce costs, improve delivery times, and support the inbound and outbound distribution of goods. This role executes company strategy related to organizing, storing, and monitoring the distribution of goods to ensure product is picked, packed, and shipped in the correct quantities to the appropriate destinations in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Provide staff with daily guidance, leadership and overall support on any issues relating to operations, communication, human resources, revenue enhancement, standardizing procedures, systems applications, and executing processes to meet customer needs
Review and suggest changes to staff as needed to ensure the warehouse department is able to meet company goals and customer KPIs. This is accomplished through the review of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, and transport costs in addition to one on one and department meetings
Analyze, create and implement the strategy around the process around the flow of materials, products, services, and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery
Develop and cascade plans and programs to meet anticipated organizational needs in the areas of functional responsibility and ensure compliance with corporate policies, guidelines, quality standards and other regulatory requirements
Hire, develop and performance manage staff in order to ensure company expectations are met and exceeded. Conduct weekly 1:1’s in order to effectively coach and motivate team members through their performance KPIP’s and metrics, individual goals and career-pathing conversations
Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated business development goals and objectives
Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maximize efficiencies and ensure process flow with warehouse employees, inbound and outbound operations, and cartage operations. This also includes client customer service on key warehouse accounts
Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery times with suppliers and vendors
Prepare and conduct regular customer Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s) utilizing data and metrics. Identify corrective action plan for any underperforming areas.
Review and evaluate logistics P&L performance and establish goals to address any budgetary shortfalls
Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety policies and procedures
Maintain high levels of quality and customer service in the resolutions of escalated concerns related to transportation, logistics, distribution, or customer issues
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required) and
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
Experience - 7+ years experience in directly leading and managing a team (Required)
- 10+ years experience in warehouse or supply chain management (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Domestic, international and cartage freight forwarding warehousing services Low
