SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supply Chain, Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing distribution, logistics, and inventory management activities. This includes demand planning and forecasting, inventory management, logistics mapping and routing, and supply distribution management. The Supply Chain, Logistics Manager will be held accountable for Service Level Performance related to weeks-on-hand inventory, obsolete inventory, freight budget adherence, and fill rate performance. This position is expected to assist in new process mapping initiatives, and supply chain cost reduction and optimization activities. This role reports to the Director of Distribution and Logistics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilizes data to identify and prevent problems within the supply chain (costs, demand patterns, in-stock inventory, etc.) Establish freight planning and optimization best practices for the for the organization Drive the implementation of new tools and processes to improve café fill rates Support the creation, methodology and implementation of a new process to plan upcoming demand and build forecasts for suppliers and distribution centers Develop and cultivate relationships with current and potential supplier partners Coordinate communication between suppliers, distributors and internal stakeholders Work in a team environment with marketing and product development to understand needs and convey potential supply chain challenges Communicate with manufacturers and distributors regularly on resolution initiatives Support strategic initiatives/projects such as RFI, RFQ, RFP and inbound freight analysis activities, as time permits Conduct regular supplier business reviews that capture spend, performance, technology roadmaps, business growth strategies and supply market changes Investigate discrepancies to find root causes of supply chain challenges and recommend solutions Identify gaps in supply chain efficiency and other areas needing improvement Maintain databases, prepare reports and develop solutions to supply chain problems and inefficiencies Develop periodic supply chain performance reports and metrics decks to distribute to the team and other internal and external stakeholders Utilize historical and test data to build forecasts for future supply need Perform data collection, analysis and reporting to team members for decision making purposes
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 3-5
years of experience in a logistics/freight planning and optimization role 2-3 years of experience in a role responsible for data analytics or project management 2-3 years of experience in a role owning supplier selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management responsibility
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 2-3
years of experience in distribution and logistics operations Supply Chain experience within the foodservice or food manufacturing industry Quick Service Restaurant or Fast Casual Restaurant experience
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance or other related field
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, KNOWLEDGE, OR LICENSES
Must be extremely computer proficient (MS Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an appreciation of and attention to important details Strong interpersonal, written, communication and relationship-building skills Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics, operations, inventory, and planning principles and concepts Knowledge and experience working with broad line distribution for perishable products High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
Self-starter:
able to clarify ambiguity and create solutions in a fast-paced organization Strong project management skills with excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure Ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires up to 10% travel as needed to support key business initiatives
