Inventory/Receiving Supervisor 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars 2800 Vista Ridge Drive, Suwanee, GA 30024 Inventory/Receiving Supervisor General Summary The Inventory/Receiving Supervisor is responsible for tasking, leading and monitoring the inventory and Receiving team. This team manages the location and cycle counting of inventory, as well as, intake, identification and preparation of inbound shipments and to execute receiving’s in accounting software. This position requires some repeated heaving lifting throughout the day, carrying and lifting while reaching, bending, climbing, walking, and standing to move product within the warehouse. He or she will operate warehouse heavy and light equipment and computer hardware and software as needed. Responsibilities
- Supervise inventory team; plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of inventory associates
- Responsible for the timely and accurate receiving and accounting of all inbound shipments.
- Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received.
- Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as inventory associates.
- Perform all daily activities necessary to maintain effective inventory management
- Verify, locate, and log all inventory with a strategic outlook for that product’s use.
- Verify and update overstock and picking locations.
- Monitor and measure department performance for accuracy and productivity.
- Create efficient and accurate inventory management procedures
- Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reports
- Execute regular cycle counts.
- Develop all necessary reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory counts
- Trouble-shoot and research inventory discrepancies.
- Work with management on implementing loss prevention programs and improving management of inventory
- Plan and implement a recovery program to ensure all damaged product is accounted for and handled properly
- Develop a program to maintain tight security over inventory
- Move materials using all work devices such as conveyors, hand trucks, or forklifts.
- Participate with inventory assembly as a function of special projects when necessary and work across warehouse departments as needed.
- Develop, implement and direct programs to promote a safety culture on site and to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property is a priority.
- Comply with company regulations by following all safety and quality assurance standards, including good housekeeping and overall cleanliness of products and work areas.
- Adhere to company policy as stated in the company handbook.
- Maintain readiness of all distribution equipment (pallet jacks, fork lifts, conveyor systems, etc.) including regular cleaning and user maintenance and coordinate service maintenance when needed.
