Suwanee, GA Purpose:
The Supervisor of Logistics is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of inbound and outbound logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, transportation, and inventory control. This role manages a team of warehouse operators, forklift drivers, and logistics clerks—assigning work, providing training, and evaluating performance to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials across the supply chain.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Provides direction to team to achieve KPIs, coaching, developing, and recognizing good performance and behaviors. Implements policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials (Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods) and accurate and timely transactions to reflect these movements in Kinetico’s ERP system. Measures Inventory and Shipping Departments’ results to KPIs and identifies continuous improvement opportunities that increase effectiveness, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce cost. Manages the process of inter-company transfers; improves the process by reducing touches, movement, travel distance and labor. Assists in the reduction of inventory by monitoring aged, excess, and obsolete inventory and takes action as appropriate. Ensures the accuracy of material inventories; uses tools such as cycle counting, bar coding and open communication with departments to affirm stocking location updates. Collaborates with manufacturing planning to ensure on-time deliveries. Initiates Root Cause/Corrective action investigations when variances are identified to avoid reoccurrence. Communicates with purchasing; assists departments in initiating requisitions and purchase orders and provides problem resolution when in-coming issues occur. Ensure the timely delivery of components to production and FG from production to the warehouse. Maintains and enforces safety procedures and housekeeping.
Key Performance Indicators:
Quality—Reduction of inventory variances, improvements in inventory accuracy; reduction of shipping errors and damages. Cost – Freight spend, spend with outside warehouses/3Pls; directly manage relationships and agreements with all relevant 3PLs. Managing collaborative relationships with other internal organizations such as Operations, sales, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics, and Product Development. Continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. On Time in Full (OTIF) and Days of Inventory Outstanding (DIO)
Key Challenges and Decisions :
Improve inventory visibility, accuracy, and availability. Implement initiatives such as bar coding, stocking location, and timely movement within system. Manage and direct the Material Handling and Shipping team members.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business; and three years of experience, or seven years of commensurate work experience. Minimum of two years of experience managing others. Possesses strong managerial and leadership skills, able to delegate and supervise work. In-depth knowledge of inventory methods, procedures, and specification writing. Experience with ERP, preferably in JDE. Has the understanding and aptitude to work with computer inventory programs and software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal skills for interacting and coordinating work with other departments of the organization.
