JOB SUMMARY

Plans and manages warehouse and transportation operations to meet GSF objectives for quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manages all warehouse shipping and receiving, transportation and logistics activities to ensure that department and GSF productivity and quality objectives are met or exceeded. (25%)
Manages assigned staff, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees. (20%)
Audits operational procedures and programs to identify and implement improvements in product availability, storage optimization, sanitation, security and inventory accuracy, resulting in increased timeliness and productivity. (15%)
Develops, audits, and controls the budget within plan. (10%)
Manages all finished goods, raw materials and ingredient inventories to ensure accuracy, proper rotation and efficient storage and movement. (10%)
Develops and implements policies and procedures to comply with company customer, and regulatory agency guidelines for safety and productivity. (10%)
Communicates with senior management and employees to ensure the effective dissemination of company policies, analysis, and operations-related information required for effective decision-making. (10%)
Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

Manages, through subordinate supervisors, approximately 100 mostly hourly employees

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in purchasing or logistics management from an accredited college or university

Experience:

7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment with increasing management experience
