Job Summary The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the coordination between the Inventory Control Team (Inventory Controller, Receiving & Pricing associates), Corporate Office and the outside inventory personnel so that the POS System and physical stock accuracy are maintained. Will be responsible for training and development for the Inventory Control Team. Independent judgment, organizational, good writing, and communication skills are necessary. Must interact well with management, store employees, customers, outside vendors and other corporate office staff. Travel is necessary. II. Qualifications A.

Education:

Must have a high school education or equivalent. B.

Training and Experience:

5 years of inventory management with building materials. Some supervisory or leadership experience preferred C.

Job Knowledge:

Should be familiar with physical inventory procedures as well as knowledge of product receiving and accounting. D.

Physical Demands:

Work requires much physical effort; involves little sitting, standing, walking, and some heavy lifting on a regular basis. Works in and out of air-conditioned environment. (

This job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant heavy-duty work and occasional extra heavy work.) IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities A. Must be familiar and in compliance with Stine Policies and Procedures B. Manage/Oversee all store physical inventory processes C. Responsible for coaching, training and continuous development of the Inventory Team D. Research, assist and train stores regarding all aspects of required reporting and audits to include: Attrition Reports, Negative Reports, Purchase Advice Reports, etc E. Research, assist and train stores regarding any stolen or damaged product F. Help develop cycle count matrix by location, as well as maintain efficient tracking G. Advise, assist, and train stores regarding completion of cycle counts, following the matrix, calendar, or schedule H. Research/assist with all barcode corrections turned in by store locations or Corporate as needed I. Assist with any Accounts Payable issues that relate to unit of measure or other inventory process discrepancy J. Advise and assist stores on how to be organized and ready for the inventory team for physical inventory K. Schedule, plan, and oversee each location’s physical inventory count, working closely with store management, store personnel and outside inventory personnel. This should be planned efficiently and effectively L. Assist stores on research and correction from variances before and after the physical inventory M. Research/assist with any items or inventory related requests or questions provided by store locations or Corporate N. Assist and train Inventory Control Team regarding other aspects of inventory processes, procedure and maintenance O. Attend assigned meetings to keep associates informed of preventable inventory issues P. Monitor and correct AP/PO reports regularly, as needed Q. Assist with year-end procedures and processes, both at store locations and Corporate R. Calculate attrition rate and cycle continuance capture rate weekly S. Reconcile sell to pay inventory monthly T. Attend corporate meetings and/or training to stay informed of changes in processes and procedures and best practices The above duties are not intended, nor should they be considered, a complete list of responsibilities.
