Our Client is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join theirSulfuric Acid Regeneration Services Business. The candidate will beaccountable for the day to day activities required to create andmaintain detailed production / supply schedules based oncoordination with customers, sales, manufacturing operations,marketing terminals and co-producers. Individual will act as pointperson between the supply organization and gulf coast plants &terminals to clearly define capability and coordinate movement ofsupply. Responsibilities include contract management & oversight ofcontract operations in the region.  Functional ResponsibilitiesManage a team of 3 shipping coordinators and 3 contract loadersresponsible for planning, loading and distribution of sulfuricacid. Plans production schedules for assigned manufacturingprocesses to optimize production output and meet customerrequirements. Revises schedules to accommodate product demandfluctuation, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or otherinterruptions. Provide functional leadership / management forshipping roles on site. Managing short term supply / demand forplant / equipment outages & shutdowns for gulf region manufacturingoperations and terminals. Analyzes internal and/or externalcustomer requirements, current and future inventory conditions andproduction capacity to determine raw material & run raterequirements to meet production goals for assigned manufacturingprocesses. Provides feedback to business in regards to supplylimitations and constraints. Responsible for oversight of contractoperation in Houston, TX including regular reviews of performance,routine audits of quality systems & safety and planning of allmovement of material in and out of that location. Monitors and setsinventory levels to avoid material shortages and excess inventory.
Requisitions and coordinates the ordering and expediting ofmaterials to ensure inventory levels are maintained. Tracks andanalyzes physical inventory data and variances and recommendscourse of action to correct or improve inventory accuracy. Verifies/ reconciles physical inventory levels on a monthly basis. Monitorsdaily production status to ensure that product is manufacturedaccording to schedule. Coordinates and expedites production andshipping activities with internal operations to resolve customercomplaints and eliminate delays. May contact vendors ,suppliers andcustomers directly to resolve issues with material availability andproduct delivery. Leads SAP integration / administration forproduction for the gulf region. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (orequivalent combination of education/certification and experience)plus 2-4 years of production planning and control experience in amanufacturing environment is required. Supervisory or managementexperience. Working knowledge of production and inventory planningprinciples, methods and systems. Strong analytical, problemsolving, persuasive, process-orientation and communication skillsrequired. Very good organizational and math skills required. StrongMS Excel skills required. Preferred Experience Experience in thechemical industry. Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
Experience managing goods movement / logistics including bargesand/or rail. Managing customer specifications and lab results thatensure customer requirements are met. ProblemSolving Demonstratedability to work effectively in a team environment and goodinterpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, set priorities,organize work and implement action items. Demonstrated ability ofinterpreting/applying regulatory requirements, and makingregulatory assessments that comply with the regulations in order tomeet the regulations. Strong analytical skills for evaluatingmechanical failures and/or maintenance trends. Demonstrated andstrong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated skill in developing and analyzing metrics forcontinuous improvement. Demonstrated analytical skills in problemsolving and troubleshooting. Demonstrated ability to drivecontinuous improvement efforts. Demonstrated ability to adapt tochange and lead change. Accountability Ensuring all acid moved inand out of gulf coast distribution terminal and co-producers meetscustomer quality requirements and on time delivery. Maintainingproduction planning system with current lead times and relatedinformation. Timely communication of operational interruptions toleadership and potential impacts to customers. Establishingeffective relationships with various internal and external groupssuch as customers, customer service, suppliers, demand planners,plant production personnel, senior management, and businessprinciples. Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly productionreports. Monitoring orders from start to finish ensuringtimelydelivery of all customerorders. Â Additional Information Travel of5% is expected.
