Job Description

Parts Manager 1.8 1.8 out of 5 stars 2399 Gause Boulevard West, Slidell, LA 70460 The Parts Manager ensures that our customers receive the right parts on time, while maximizing departmental efficiency and profitability. This a exempt position with a typical work schedule 1st shift M-F. iTA is Louisiana’s largest Navistar truck dealer, covering the New Orleans, Slidell, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles markets. iTA sells International-branded new trucks and all makes and models of pre-owned used trucks and trailers, as well as providing outstanding service and parts to meet any fleet’s needs. We also offer leasing services through Idealease of Acadiana. Manage the day-to-day operations of the parts department, including inventory control, stocking, and ordering of heavy truck parts. Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve overall departmental efficiency. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with parts inquiries, orders, and technical support. Lead, train, and motivate a team of parts specialists to achieve departmental goals and provide outstanding customer service. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences, driving sales and repeat business. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards, promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Skills and Qualifications:
Prior Experience:

Experience in a relevant field, such as manufacturing or the automotive industry.

Specific Industry Experience:

Familiarity with heavy-duty truck parts sales and operations. Ability to lift over 50 pounds.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Work Conditions:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Work in indoor conditions with occasional outdoor weather exposure. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
