Shipping Manager 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Vandalia, MO 63382 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping operations within a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics, inventory control, and materials handling. This role is crucial in ensuring that all shipping processes are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with OSHA regulations. Duties Supervise daily shipping operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing training and guidance to enhance performance. Oversee the use of warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and shipments. Coordinate with logistics providers and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to optimize shipping processes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including OSHA standards. Conduct regular inspections of shipping areas to maintain cleanliness and organization. Monitor materials handling procedures to minimize damage and loss during transit. Analyze shipping metrics to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Requirements Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution center environment. Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory control, and warehouse management systems. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations. Experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively. Proficiency in materials handling techniques, including forklift operation (certification preferred). Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration across departments.
