5/6/25 Job Summary Under direction of the Director of Materials, the Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the Surgical Services Departments supply chain, ensuring adequate materials and equipment are available while optimizing costs and processes. This involves purchasing, storing, and distributing medical supplies, equipment, and other materials used by the Surgical Services Departments and managing these departments’ inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee Purchasing and Sourcing for Supplies in Surgical Services Departments per state of Mississippi purchasing guidelines
Supervise and maintain the physical inventory of materials
Oversee Annual Physical Inventory in Surgical Services Departments
Inventory Management and maintain Inventory Records in ERP System
Receiving and Distribution of Supplies
Collaboration and Communication with Surgical Services and other Hospital Departments
Cost Management
Quality Assurance Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years experience in healthcare supply chain
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare supply chain management
Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
Proficiency in relevant software systems (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and Excel Minimum Requirements
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

This is a supply chain/procurement position that is performed in the Surgical Services Departments in the Hospital, consisting of Surgery, OR at Plastics, Cath Lab, and Endoscopy. Working conditions will consist of both office/computer related work along with stocking and distribution of supplies. This position can require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30lbs.
