Materials Manager Axjo America Inc 221 South Mclin Creek Road, Conover, NC 28613 General Job Functions

• Support our customers, suppliers, employees, and production in the best possible way
• Carry out the work in the most beneficial way for the company in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Be a good example regarding work ethic, attendance, safety and quality for employees and colleagues
• Accurately oversee all outgoing products, and incoming materials. Maintain inventory information and database for products placed in stock and products shipped
• Work on implementation of Pyramid into the organization in assigned areas
• Manage startup of new materials into production
• Write and implement work instructions; suggest and implement efficiency improvements and optimizations with Plant Supervisor
• Working with Plant Supervisor, Director of Operations and Purchasing Department, maintain needed material and supplies needed for the production
• Make sure that the material is according to quality routines and instructions
• Manage and supervise employees in assigned area, promoting a strong teamwork orientation
• Make sure that the warehouse and production area is clean and safe
• Make sure that the machines are being cleaned, serviced, and maintained according to specifications Daily / Weekly Functions
• Attend and participate in the morning meetings with employees at shift change; attend weekly productions meetings
• Verify and sign-off on assigned employee timecards
• Send weekly report to Plant Supervisor and Director of Operations
• Ensure incoming and outgoing material is being reported correctly and timely
• Load and unload trucks
• Ensure that all company forklifts are inspected daily and documented; schedule any necessary maintenance or repairs
• Optimize the usage of material in stock
• Organize materials and products in warehouse, utilizing effective and efficient use of space.
• Training of new employees in assigned areas
• Help operators on the production floor when needed
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure the machines are producing according to quality specs
• Manage flow of materials to production
• Safely operate and maintain forklifts Long-term Functions
• Improve and organize working, production and warehouse area (6S Boards)
• Improve productivity and reduce scrap rate
• Improve quality and efficiency Physical Demands / Requirements
• Must be able to stand, stoop, reach, grasp, sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift-up- to a maximum of 50 lbs. safely
• Noise level in materials area at times can be loud
• Must be willing and able to abide by all safety policies
• Non-climate-controlled plant environment; standard hazards within a manufacturing plant where safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained at-all times
• Ability to become certified and operate a variety of forklifts
• 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership skills
• Thorough knowledge of safety and quality
• Strong written and oral communications
• Associate degree or course level work in manufacturing or business emphasis highly desired
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Knowledge of warehousing and stock control methods and procedures helpful

$70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
