Position Summary Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for directing and coordinating all incoming and outgoing freight, and oversight of all aspects of the logistics department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the success of the overall manufacturing and distribution site. They should work well both independently and as part of a team, and be well organized and have strong attention to detail. They will have success in managing multiple internal relationships and competing demands while ensuring deadlines are met. Position Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise activities of the logistics/warehouse team. Responsible for arranging and receiving all inbound/outbound shipments to include: Arranging Transportation. Contacting the pickup locations. Receiving the loads into the inventory system. Inspect shipments to ensure that all customer expectations are met. Post and prepare documentation required for shipping and receiving to include but not limited to Bills of Lading (BOL), weights and shipping charges. Responsible for maintaining the storage of finished and raw material inventory in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and BRC standards. Responsible for making sure all equipment (Forklifts, Yard Trucks, Safety Equipment, etc) is maintained and used properly. Responsible for maintaining the Warehouses, Docks, Truck Parking Lot, and Leased Trailers in accordance with GMP and BRC Standards. Assist Management in effectively leading, developing, and coaching team to achieve key goals and objectives ensuring company standards for shipment quality. Ensure focus on employee training and development. All employees are directly responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job in accordance with the GMP Rules and the Sanitation, Safety and HACCP Programs. Ensure a safe work environment and collaborate with the Safety department to meet corporate goals and governmental standards, including but not limited to, right to know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Strong people management, communication, motivational, and customer service skills are required Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Two (2) years of experience in warehouse operations, transportation management and/or supply chain management is required, including two to five years’ supervisory experience with a diverse employee population Food manufacturing experience preferred Familiarity with Safety and Food Safety programs is required. Ability to operate a forklift is required. Proficient in computer program literacy including but not limited to Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
