Ltd Milford, ME 04461 Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded Purchase Manager to lead our procurement efforts, focusing on vendor development, stock management, and reporting within the stores department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, optimizing stock levels, and generating insightful reports to support decision-making across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in vendor performance and stock management. Duties 1.
Vendor Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors for raw materials, components, and services required for manufacturing microbiology products.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure favorable terms, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering collaboration and partnership to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Monitor vendor performance, conduct regular supplier audits, and implement corrective actions to address quality issues or supply chain disruptions.

Stock Management:
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and ensure adequate supply to support production schedules.
- Oversee stock replenishment processes, including forecasting demand, setting reorder points, and managing inventory replenishment cycles.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts, excess inventory, and near expiry, while maximizing inventory turnover and minimizing write-offs.
- Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity.

Reporting and Analysis:
- Design and develop reporting mechanisms to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vendor performance, stock levels, and inventory accuracy.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights into supply chain performance, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.
- Analyze data trends, variances, and root causes to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate findings, propose recommendations, and drive implementation of corrective actions.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to vendor management, stock control, and reporting functions.
- Maintain documentation and records related to vendor contracts, purchase orders, inventory transactions, and stock movement activities. Support quality assurance efforts by monitoring vendor quality performance, conducting supplier audits, and participating in quality improvement initiatives Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 – 6 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, vendor management, or procurement roles within the manufacturing industry, preferably in microbiology products or life sciences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management systems, Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of analyzing complex data and making data-driven decisions.
