Senior Materials Planning Manager •This position is located onsite in Greensboro, North Carolina. •

Job Summary:

The Senior Materials Planning Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that Kontoor Brands’ fabric procurement plan aligns seamlessly with the production plan. This role is pivotal in minimizing global liabilities and ensuring adequate life cycle management for fabrics, thereby supporting the company’s overall supply chain efficiency and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Fabric Reservation and Inventory Management:

Develop and implement fabric procurement plans aligned with production schedules, in coordination with Procurement team. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet planning requirements while minimizing costs and liabilities, in coordination with Procurement team. Oversee shipping, receiving, and storage functions to ensure timely deliveries and accurate inventory records, in coordination with Manufacturing team.

Supplier and Contract Management:

Establish and manage a Supplier Performance Management process to ensure high standards in product quality, delivery performance, and compliance reporting, in coordination with Procurement team. Conduct root-cause analysis to resolve materials-related issues and implement permanent solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

Partner with production, design, and sourcing teams to align fabric needs with production capabilities. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in materials planning. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation. Look for ways to reduce lead time in fabric procurement.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze procurement and production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present reports on fabric procurement and liability status to senior management.

Compliance and Ethical Practices:

Develop and enforce policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Maintain ethical relationships with vendors and stay informed on legal matters affecting purchasing policies.

Team Leadership:

Lead and develop a high-performing materials planning team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Managing people in different regions reporting to this role. Main point of contact with the procurement team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management. Proven experience as a materials manager. Experience in shipping and receiving. Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems. Understanding of forecasting and budgeting. Working knowledge of SAP MM. Proficient in MS Office. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. A problem-solver with strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience in the apparel or textile industry is preferred.
