Material Managment Team Lead WEBER Screwdriving Systems 149 Knob Hill Road, Mooresville, NC 28117 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Manager Team Lead to oversee our materials management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective flow of materials throughout the supply chain, managing inventory levels, and optimizing logistics operations. This role is crucial in supporting our production goals and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The Material Management Team Leader will be a key team member responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process by demonstrating an additional level of expertise in the operating processes, practices, standards, and procedures required to support material availability. The role provides close supervision to ensure work inputs and outputs are completed on schedule, consider all elements of the warehousing, inventory, and logistics processes, and provide value to the business including an understanding of operational, procurement and inventory management. Successful Materials Managers are highly practical and organized people who have a thorough understanding of how scheduling and logistics can impact a business. They are passionate about efficiency and finding better ways to achieve a result. Good Materials Managers are excellent teachers and mentors who can delegate tasks to their team and explain clear expectations about the quality and speed of their work. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for effective materials management and inventory control. Oversee supply chain operations, ensuring timely procurement of materials to meet production demands. Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and delivery schedules. Coordinate logistics activities to ensure efficient transportation and distribution of materials. Analyze demand planning data to forecast material needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align materials management strategies with overall business objectives. Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve operational efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management, reporting on progress and areas for improvement. Skills Experience with ERP systems Strong inventory and master data management skills Ability to read engineering drawings and understand bills of material Confidence in vendor negotiations and relationship management Decision-making skills for making timely and informed decisions Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices. Proficiency in logistics coordination and inventory control techniques. Experience in materials management, including procurement processes. Familiarity with demand planning methodologies and supplier management strategies. Ability to negotiate contracts effectively with suppliers.
