Job Overview:

The Materials Planning Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Material Planners, and all materials project initiatives. In addition, this position is accountable for materials department labor, materials improvement productivity and Material Planner performance. Key performance indicators for this position are first pass service level on material, on-time shipping to promise date, and days past due on supply.

Responsibilities:

Primary escalation contact for material planners and customer support. Ensures optimization of all materials management activities Lead problem solving activities that are tied to Daily Management Responsible for the implementation, support and compliance of the Materials and SIOP standard work playbook processes and systems. Enables the fulfillment process from material procurement and warehousing. Facilitates interaction with Sourcing, Engineering, Accounting, Marketing, Operations and Quality Assurance in support of product purchase through receipt. Provide required support to Global Procurement Commodity Leaders and Sourcing as needed during supplier selection process. Work with multiple SBU’s to support various processes and projects for improvement. Develop and drive countermeasures for underperforming material suppliers. Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of materials functions and Ingersoll Rand’s operating goals and objectives. Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, developing, coaching, succession planning, and delegating for 6-8 professional Material Planners/Buyers Develop, coach and implement professional development goals for materials personnel. Manage Suppliers, Materials and Inventory consistent with Supply Chain management guidelines Optimize the planning team’s workload to meet customer requirement Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or engineering discipline 3+ years of experience in the integrated functions of a manufacturing or distribution environment that has embraced lean concepts, MRP manufacturing practices, and progressive supplier relationships. Previous managerial experience (2+ years) of leading professional employees focusing on reducing complexity, motivating and talent development.

Must have the ability to design and execute a supplier PIPO plan Must possess a strong customer service orientation Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment. Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization. Must be a flexible, decisive and proactive problem solver. Must be a strong communicator (verbal and written) and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once. Must be able to work well in high pressure, fast-paced environment and be proficient at conflict resolution. Must be proficient in information technology systems utilized in Materials Management.

MRP, ERP

systems, Microsoft Excel Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP, purchasing and A/P invoice management. Experience in Oracle or SAP Comfortable in all Microsoft suite applications
