ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a supply chain executive to lead global operations for a fast-paced, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of high-quality products across commercial, clinical, and research pipelines-spanning North America, Asia, and Europe. As the Director of Global Supply Chain Operations, you will oversee a complex, multi-regional network of contract manufacturers, logistics providers, and regulatory stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling strategic growth through robust supply chain planning and execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Supply Leadership :
Direct the full spectrum of supply chain activities across multiple regions, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of products for commercial, clinical, and research use.
International Logistics Strategy :
Design and oversee global transportation and customs strategies, ensuring compliance with international trade laws and optimizing cross-border movement of goods.
External Manufacturing Oversight :
Cultivate and manage high-impact partnerships with external manufacturers and logistics providers. Monitor performance, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Launch & Transition Execution :
Lead supply chain readiness for new product introductions, manufacturing site changes, and market expansions in close coordination with regulatory, quality, and technical teams.
Integrated Planning & Forecasting :
Champion integrated planning processes to align global supply capabilities with market demand, reduce excess inventory, and prevent supply disruptions.
Regulatory & Trade Compliance :
Maintain rigorous standards for compliance with global regulatory bodies and trade authorities, including oversight of controlled substances and biologics logistics.
Strategic Growth Support :
Contribute to corporate growth initiatives by evaluating supply chain implications of mergers, acquisitions, and licensing deals, and supporting post-deal integration.
Team & Capability Development :
Build and lead a globally distributed team of supply chain professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in global pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical supply chain operations (required) Proven success managing complex supply networks, including CMOs and 3PLs, across multiple geographies. Deep knowledge of international trade compliance, logistics, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CBP, FDA, EU
VAT, DEA
). Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working across Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial teams. Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed, multicultural environment and drive strategic initiatives. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
