LOGISTICS MANAGER:
We are looking for an experienced and analytical Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our logistics and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities related to transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of logistics principles to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. This is a full-time in office position, located in West Orange, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement logistics strategies and procedures that optimize the flow of goods Forecast demand and plan transportation, warehousing, and distribution resources accordingly. Coordinate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to align logistics processes with business goals.
Transportation, Warehouse & Inventory Management:
Track and monitor air and sea shipments, addressing delays or issues to minimize disruptions and communicating with customers on delays, ensuring on time delivery Oversee inbound overseas shipments, ensuring proper documentation is received & compliant with regulations Handle paperwork for receipt of goods into our warehouse; including breakdown of goods, inventory storage and prepare release to customer Work with Warehouse Inventory Management System and create a work order for release and prepare shipping documentation for release from warehouse, including but not limited to packing lists and bills of lading Manage outbound shipments from warehouse, ensuring proper coordination with customers & respective trucker Work within our ERP system; NetSuite to update sales orders and purchase orders with the correct freight terms, freight quotes, & additional freight details Prepare stock inventory releases from warehouse Work with current Warehouse Inventory Management System to ensure optimization and efficiencies for Amber Collaborate & supervise warehousing operations, including inventory, stock accuracy, partial boxes, and storage optimization. Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain productivity and organization in all storage facilities. Implement systems and procedures for effective inventory tracking, replenishment, and accuracy.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
Process Improvement and Reporting:
Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operations
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, and manage logistics and warehouse staff to maximize productivity and teamwork. Work directly with President, Head of Operations & rest of team to ensure fluency Foster a culture of efficiency, proactiveness and accountability within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred 5 plus years in Logistics/warehousing/supply chain Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role within supply chain or logistics Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles. Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Netsuite/Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Proactive, critical thinker Strong communication skills, customer focused Excellent organizational, analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based with occasional visits to warehouses sites.
