Job Description
Manager, Consumer & Industrial Products 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars New York, NY Are you ready to make an impact? West Monroe is hiring for a Manager to help growing our Consumer and Industrial Products practice. The Manager will have two main responsibilities: (1) providing data driven insights for retail / consumer / industrial business to identify value creation and risk mitigating opportunities and the technology & process-driven solutions to enable them and (2) the ability to manage, drive, and execute projects with internal/external teams to deliver on identified value opportunities.
Client Delivery:
As a Manager within our C&IP Practice, you will be expected to manage and execute the strategic direction of data-driven client engagements, manage relationships with C-suite executives and manage teams that deliver high-quality, compelling solutions that create significant shareholder value. You will be expected to leverage leading-edge analytics software create innovative client solutions.
Client Development:
This role includes responsibility of managing the client relationship at the executive and director levels while managing and providing oversight for the work of internal project teams. Most importantly, candidates should be passionate about what they do and enjoy a fun, entrepreneurial environment.
Practice Development:
You will be expected to manage and mentor talented teams of consultants and technologists supporting our client engagements that reimagine, build, and transform their business and operations. A bachelor’s degree is required, with preference for statistics or analytics related fields preferred (Economics, Finance, Applied Math & Statistics, Data Science, Engineering) An MBA degree or equivalent experience is preferred 2+ years’ experience leading and/or managing the delivery of data-driven consulting engagements from strategy to execution, including understanding financial statements, business cycles and financial modeling 2+ years’ experience managing multi-disciplinary teams of consultants OR 6+ years in an operational / commercial leadership role in a C&IP related industry Ability to analyze data through a hypothesis driven approach to generate insights that inform conclusions and support decision-making Develop and leverage business frameworks to synthesize recommendations, set strategic direction and drive alignment with clients Ability to coach junior resources on engagement delivery, data insight generation, hypothesis driven approach and presentation best practices Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills to develop novel frameworks to solve unstructured problems Fundamental understanding of key financial statements and strong overall business acumen High proficiency in Excel required Moderate experience with relevant analytical tools and/or coding languages preferred (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, R, Python) Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills; with an in-depth knowledge of project planning and delivery methodologies Strong communication skills to be able to work with clients at all levels of the organization

Industry Knowledge:
Functional knowledge of retail, consumer, and/or industrial value chain
- particularly in one or more of the following sectors: Specialty Retail, Grocery, Consumer Packaged Goods, Chemicals, Specialty Materials, Durable Goods, Food & Beverage, Automotive/Transportation, Industrial Products and Equipment Experience with mid-market retail, consumer, or industrial businesses ($500M
- $5B in Revenue) Functional knowledge of one or several of the following: Specialty retail and/or grocery operations
- including but not limited to the following areas: consumer behavior and marketing, merchandise planning and analysis, retail planning & retail operations, data analytics teams Consumer packaged goods
- including but not limited to the following areas: revenue growth management, trade promotion management, planning/forecasting, sales & operations planning, supply chain, warehouse and distribution Discreet manufacturing and/or process manufacturing operations
- including but not limited to the following functions: planning/forecasting, supply management, procurement, sales and operations planning, engineering, production scheduling, maintenance, production controls, quality control, inventory management, supply chain, warehouse and distribution Ability to identify and quantify business cases impacting the P&L and/or balance sheet for manufacturing or supply chain use cases Must have been an active team member on at least 3 operational and/or performance transformation programs for manufacturing or retail clients Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
