Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong communication process’s to ensure a timely efficient flow of information across all departments
Optimize carrier and forwarder shipping from origin to estimated time of departure based on cost and efficiency.
Providing recommendations for improvement with warehouse contacts.
Supervise warehouses to ensure accurate inventory counts
Oversee data analytics and reporting .
Responsible for providing the import team monthly with container forecasts.
Drive improvements in average cubic meters (CBM) loaded per container.
Work to minimize overall drayage, demurrage, detention, and per diem costs.
Monitor daily systems for Purchase Order (PO) bookings and due dates, ensuring timely updates.
Ensure timely receipt of containers and address any delays.
Distribute monthly transit time reports to identify accuracy.
Obtain and communicate rates from the import department to sourcing, including a margin percentage for costing.
Oversee distribution center consolidation and manage associated costs.
SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree
10+ years of experience in logistics including supervising roles
Manage multiple priorities while working to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills working with cross functional teams
Excellent organizational skills including scheduling, planning, and budgeting.
