Logistics and Warehouse Manager Puerto Plata Seafoods Ozone Park, NY 11416 MUST

Warehouse Manager – Responsibilities The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at Puerto Plata Seafood’s warehouse. This includes supervising staff, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining standards, and supporting both logistics and sales teams. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Staff Oversight & Accountability Ensure all warehouse employees are actively working and not idling. Supervise loaders, packers, inventory workers, and cleaning staff. Provide daily direction and motivation to maintain productivity. Address any employee misconduct or inefficiency immediately. Handle employee schedules in coordination with the Dispatch Manager, ensuring full coverage for all shifts and deliveries. 2. Inventory & Receiving Verify that all incoming products are correctly received and documented by the inventory worker. Ensure products are stored in proper locations (freezer/dry/cooler). Oversee weekly, and monthly inventory checks for accuracy. 3. Customer Service & Sales Support Review daily customer returns; determine reasons and follow up with relevant sales reps. Identify customers who have stopped ordering and ensure the assigned sales rep follows up. Monitor sales reps’ activity: check who they’re visiting, what new accounts they’re bringing in, and how they’re supporting current clients. Assist in maintaining high service standards for delivery and customer satisfaction. 4. Logistics & Delivery Operations Ensure drivers are on time, follow all delivery procedures, and complete their delivery logs correctly. Enforce procedures such as sending pictures after deliveries, marking invoices (e.g., “Not Paid”), and returning payment properly.
Monitor van conditions:
scheduling oil changes, mechanical checkups, inspections, and maintaining cleanliness and branding appearance. Track and follow up on any tickets or traffic violations. 5. Maintenance & Cleanliness Ensure the entire warehouse (coolers, freezers, dry storage) is kept clean and organized. Coordinate maintenance or repair work as needed (equipment, freezer units, lighting, etc.). Keep emergency supplies and safety equipment up to date and in compliance. 6. Communication & Reporting Maintain clear daily communication with ownership on operations and issues. Work closely with the purchasing department to flag fast-moving or low-inventory items. 7. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, especially regarding food storage and handling. Conduct regular safety checks and trainings with the team. Maintain documentation for inspections, insurance, and licenses.
