Position Overview:

Talay Trailer Sales & Rentals is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Semi-Trailer Parts Manager to oversee all aspects of our parts department. The ideal candidate will manage parts inventory, ensure accuracy in ordering and receiving, and support the service team by supplying the correct parts efficiently. A working knowledge of trailer repair and estimates is essential, along with strong communication skills for customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts Monitor and organize parts inventory to ensure parts are correctly located and accessible Identify and address discrepancies in part quantities or locations Software Proficiency Utilize internal software systems for inventory tracking, purchase orders, and service coordination Maintain accurate digital records of all parts transactions and inventory updates Parts Distribution & Receiving Efficiently distribute parts to mechanics to minimize downtime Accurately receive shipments and verify parts against purchase orders Ensure all parts are properly labeled and stocked upon receipt Purchasing & Vendor Relations Generate purchase orders when ordering new or replacement parts Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery and proper documentation Track order status and follow up on delayed or incorrect shipments Trailer Estimate Support Understand semi-trailer estimates and identify necessary parts Communicate with service writers and mechanics to ensure estimate accuracy Customer Communication Respond to customer inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, and lead times Provide updates on parts orders related to repair estimates and customer trailers Assist in resolving any customer issues related to parts or estimates

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a parts or inventory management role, preferably in the trailer, truck, or automotive industry Knowledge of semi-trailers and related components Strong computer skills: experience with inventory or service management software is preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy
