Job Overview:

Sanofi’s FLEXT Direct program is seeking a Manager, Materials Planning & Inventory Control to support materials management operations in Swiftwater, PA. This hybrid contract role (12 months) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and ordering materials using MRP and reorder-point methodologies in SAP. The Manager will act as a key liaison to focus factory teams, proactively identifying material needs, resolving potential shortages, and ensuring alignment with production schedules. The role also involves optimizing inventory levels to mitigate stockouts, expiration risks, and obsolescence—while balancing cost and storage constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate materials to support production, R D, and project activities (IA M-Tech, GEM). Manage assigned inventory to ensure availability, proper safety stock, and minimal obsolescence or expiration. Use SAP MRP tools and collaborate with focus factory and business systems teams to align material planning with project and production changes. Process Material Disposal Orders (MDOs) for obsolete, rejected, or unused items, including resolving invoice discrepancies. Interface with vendors and logistics technicians to resolve delivery issues or coordinate returns (debit memos). Prioritize material releases in coordination with PQMR, QC, and Logistics teams. Support site-wide critical materials management initiatives , including: Identifying and reducing risks from single-source suppliers. Communicating supply disruptions. Supporting supplier quality efforts. Collaborate with Procurement on supplier relationship management : Share long-term forecasts. Understand supplier processes. Analyze key departmental metrics , such as: Inventory turns. Safety stock reviews. Aging/obsolescence status. MDO progression. Contribute to special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field. Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience in materials or inventory planning.

Preferred Certifications:
APICS CPIM

(Certified in Production and Inventory Management)

APICS CSCP

(Certified Supply Chain Professional) Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems ; SAP experience strongly preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office , especially Excel (data management, analysis, and reporting). Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels. Ability to manage complex vendor relationships and navigate cross-functional environments.
