Job Description
Assistant Parts Manager Volvo Cars Fort Washington 115 North Bethlehem Pike, Fort Washington, PA 19034 As an Assistant Parts Manager you will be tasked with overseeing the operations of our parts department here at Volvo Cars Fort Washington. This role is a vital position for ensuring the efficient flow of parts and supplies needed for operations and customer satisfaction. This position is best suited for someone that is highly self-motivated and has the ability to create and follow processes that will enhance the efficiency of the entire Dealership.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking parts to maintain adequate stock levels. This includes managing stock levels, coordinating deliveries, and minimizing obsolescence.
Team Leadership:
Hiring, training, mentoring, and supervising parts department staff.
Customer Service:
Assisting customers with parts inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Financial Management:
Managing budget, pricing, and profitability of the parts department.
Supplier Relationships:
Negotiating with suppliers and coordinating deliveries.
Interdepartmental Coordination:
Collaborating with other departments like service or production to ensure parts availability.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing reports, and analyzing sales and inventory data.
Sales and Merchandising:
Promoting products, developing sales promotions, and increasing parts sales.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong Leadership and Management Skills:
Ability to effectively lead a team and achieve departmental goals.
Excellent Organizational Skills:
Efficiently managing inventory, orders, and administrative tasks.
Customer Service and Communication Skills:
Building relationships with customers and resolving issues effectively.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of the parts and equipment relevant to the specific industry (e.g., automotive).
Computer Proficiency:
Using inventory management systems, software, and other tools for record keeping and reporting.
Negotiation Skills:
Effectively negotiating with suppliers.
Analytical Skills:
Analyzing data and making informed decisions. Experience in a
Parts Capacity:
Previous experience in the industry is often required.
Educational Background:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Sales Experience:
May be beneficial, especially if working with the public.
