DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director of Materials Management administers and manages a program to purchase materials, supplies and equipment for hospital use, and coordinates and manages the activities of buyers, stock clerks, receiving clerks and courier. Locates source of supplies. Interviews prospective suppliers, determining such factors as lead time, present market conditions, price, discounts offered, and availability. Coordinates and manages all computer activities to include training, updates, month end closing, dictionaries, B/AR procedure codes, Kronos, EDI, CQI process, annual budgeting, and most productive use of the Meditech system. Performs as Director of Materials Management in his absence managing Materials Management, Environmental Services, Cleaning Services, Courier, Laundry, Receiving, Mail Room and performs other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associate degree, preferably with three to five years related experience in purchasing, inventory control, materials management, advance computer training on PC’s and preferred Meditech computer training.
Experience:
Three to five years experience in materials management, computer experience, with Proven Managerial Skills and Supervisory Experience Required. Meditech computer experience preferred.
