Job Description
Logistics Manager Confidential Oneida, NY 13421 Perfect opportunity to be part of a growing, locally-owned business- make your mark in developing a full Logistics program as we expand! This role involves managing transportation providers, optimizing distribution networks, and ensuring products reach their destinations in a cost-effective and timely manner. Ensures the smooth operation of the supply chain; developing and implementing logistics plans, analyzing logistics techniques, and overseeing transportation. The Logistics Manager does this in close coordination with Sales, Purchasing & Procurement, as well as Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizing and managing transportation of freight in and out of facilities Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures Manage relationships with leased warehouse spaces for logistics purposes, including scheduling all incoming and outgoing freight Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments to customers Monitoring shipments, costs, and timelines Addressing and resolving shipment issues Working closely with Sales and Customer Service on outbound shipments to customers, ensuring satisfactory receipt of materials in proper timeframe and packaging Liaising and negotiating with shipping carriers & logistics vendors Schedule delivery appointments and communicate them consistently and clearly with all warehouse and operations team stakeholders Receive and manage information on incoming orders from Buyer & Assistant Buyer to coordinate arrival times and secure logistics carriers Communicated clearly with Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse Managers, Customer Service, etc. Directly coordinates logistics, communicating with common carriers on pickups and deliveries as well as communicating clearly with all stakeholders Coordinating closely with the Buyer to ensure appropriate transportation of domestic and imported product is secured Reconciling and approving invoices for logistics/shipping services Additional duties as assigned by their supervisor
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Logistics & Supply Chain Management knowledge Excellent communication and negotiation skills Good management and organizational skills Strong problem-solving skills Experience, Education and Training – A.S. Degree in business administration, logistics, or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in logistics management required Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered Proficiency in Microsoft suite
