Leadership Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Service & Parts Manager for a family-owned dealership in the Charleston, SC area. The Service & Parts Manager is responsible for managing the service department, including partnering with the General Manager, overseeing service staff, improving service processes and ensuring customer satisfaction. The primary objective of the Service manager is to provide leadership, guidance, and direction to service employees to ensure high level of productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. They will develop strategies to enhance service quality, efficiency and profitability and will work closely with other departments to support the overall success of the dealership.
Responsibilities:
Answer service & parts request calls to schedule repair and maintenance appointments. Ensuring all customer interactions meet dealership and manufacturer standards for quality. Address customer concerns promptly and provide solutions to promote a positive relationship, increasing customer loyalty. Provide coaching and mentorship to subordinate staff to enable them to address customer concerns also. Create repair orders for all customer pay and internal jobs in a timely manner Work with sales, parts & service technician to understand what parts are in stock or need to be ordered for customer jobs so they can be scheduled for completion as soon as possible. Collect payment for jobs when parts are ordered or work is complete and turn over to accounting office to close/cashier tickets Responsible for shop time keeping and maximizing labor efficiency. regulations and complete all necessary paperwork Continuously monitor procedures to ensure highest efficiency and identify areas for improvement. Modify standard operating procedures as necessary. Create PO in DealerTrack for parts and shop supplies that need to be purchased Coordinate with parts in stock for job and ETA for receiving all parts needed to schedule repair or installation. Reconciling all parts added to Repair Order are correct after job is complete (adding additional parts used/removing parts not used, etc.) Ensuring warehouse is properly organized and bin locations correct in DealerTrack. Monitor controllable expenses (shop supplies/oil/filters/wires.) Negotiate with vendors to ensure best prices for parts; enter them in necessary systems. Administrative tasks include timekeeping, approving timecards, conducting performance reviews and addressing employee concerns.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive service. Extensive knowledge of dealership operations, specifically to the Service Department. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of automotive industry trends and best practices. Dealertrack experience preferred. Understanding of Microsoft/Outlook/Excel Required. Professional appearance at all times. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to excel. Must be organized, work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a face-paced environment. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
