General Manager for Wholesale Flower Company Hi – Lo Staffing and Logistics Nashville, TN 37210 Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our wholesale flower company . The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and experience in supply chain, sales management, and customer service within the floral, perishable goods, or similar industry. Must have flower experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
Oversee daily warehouse and distribution center operations, including inventory, logistics, and quality control. Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Sales & Customer Relations:
Drive sales through strong relationships with floral retailers, event planners, and other wholesale clients. Collaborate with the sales team to set targets, pricing strategies, and customer outreach initiatives. Monitor client satisfaction and resolve issues promptly to maintain long-term partnerships.
Team Leadership:
Manage, train, and mentor department heads and staff across sales, logistics, procurement, and administration. Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture. Schedule and lead regular team meetings to align goals and resolve operational challenges.
Inventory & Supply Chain:
Oversee purchasing and vendor relationships with local and international flower growers. Manage inventory levels to meet seasonal demand and minimize spoilage. Coordinate shipping and receiving of floral products, ensuring freshness and quality.
Financial Management:
Work with accounting to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Control operational costs and seek opportunities to increase profitability. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
Proven experience (5+ years) in general management. Must have flower experience. Strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Horticulture, or related field.
Working Conditions:
Early morning hours and weekend availability may be required, especially during peak seasons (e.g., Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day). Work involves a mix of office, warehouse, and cooler environments.
