Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory control to ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded
- Ensure that inventories are constantly up to business and client standards, and that available products match customer needs
- Work closely with sales department to verify invoices
- Review and evaluate inventory accuracy and act as needed to address and correct deficiencies
- Set up operation standards for inventory control associates to follow
- Work closely with all distribution centers and the purchasing department to adjust product pricing and retuned products
- Work closely with the accounts payable department to ensure that invoices are paid by their deadlines
- Administer contracts with outside storage vendors relayed to pricing and storage needs
- Balance daily reports
- Report and analyze data ad present results to senior managers when necessary
- Ensure compliance of the distribution center’s operations with company policies, as well as with Federal and State laws
- Monitor monthly inventory in storage units, and ensure proper management of aging and excess products
- Account for all incoming products to outside storage locations and transfers to and from locations
- Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity
- Responsible for the supervision of the inventory control team
- Report and analyze cycle count data as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; the equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
- 1-2 years of inventory control experience required; preferably in the food distribution business
- Ability to work, lead, and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Strong planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Exceptional organization skills
