Title:
General Manager of Logistics – Full-Time/Non-Exemp t Reports to: President Based at: Knoxville, TN Position Description Lead and manage warehouse business operations. Provide direction, guidance and support to section leaders and members. Promote positive culture in the organization to enhance morale and motivation in the organization. Define and review sales, financial targets, and profit achievement. Report to the President all issues and implement corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate risks to the business. Promote and maintain safety standards within all warehouse operations.
Essential Functions:

Segment Leadership:
Provide direction, assign responsibilities, and review individual and team performance. Accountable and responsible for the segment delivery and performance.
Segment Management:
Develop, review and monitor KPIs. Conduct audit and compliance of business process and procedures. Conduct regular sales and operations meetings and one-to-one.
Customer Relationships:
Lead the development of new leads, contacts, and opportunities for new business. Provide clear communication, establish, and maintain strong relationships with customers. Visit customers and conduct meetings at least 1x per month. Implement CRM system and applications to improve recording and information sharing of customer information and correspondence.
Supplier and Contractor Management:
Review suppliers and contractors’ qualifications, capabilities, and reliability for partnership opportunities. Monitor existing supplier performance, review issues and achievements for supplier development. Set KPIs and targets and maintain strong relationships. Conduct regular site visits and process compliance audits.
Financial Achievement:
Develops annual budget for approval by President. Review monthly financial results with President, Segment Leaders, and Members.
Commercial Leadership:
Lead the commercial discussion, price negotiations, contract reviews, financial projections and feasibility studies for new business and existing opportunities. Develop and implement tools and applications to improve process and response time for customer RFQs.
Project Management:
Implement project management tools, assign project leaders, allocate resources, and conduct regular reviews with the team to ensure on time delivery. Monitor progress of all projects and provide guidance and direction. Manage and develop SOPs for warehouse operations.
People Development:
Provide coaching and mentoring. Review individual career interests, provide guidance and training development to improve and develop future leaders for succession planning. Objective individual and Team KPI are well defined and connected to career progression and development.
Morale and Culture Leadership:
Lead and establish an organizational culture that promotes trust, respect, and modesty. A decisive and accountable team with a “Make It Happen” mindset by empowering the team to make sound decision and being accountable.
Communication Leadership:
Lead and establish open, clear communication and healthy confrontation on pressing issues. Conduct regular open discussion with respect to individuals’ views and opinions. Clarify concerns and provide guidance and recommendations. Inform and share the organization’s challenges and gather constructive suggestions on how to address it. Effectively and clearly communicate TLD’s mission and vision to all members. Recommendations on promoting decisions Manage employee training programs and employee development. Provide analysis in setting and adjusting pay rates and work hours Planning, directing, or distributing work Keeping production records of subordinates for use in supervision Evaluating employees’ performance Handling employees’ complaints Disciplining employees Perform other duties as assigned. Establish and maintain a safety-first culture with team members.

Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree and Post-Graduate Degree is required In a current General Manager role or Minimum 10-year senior management experience in operations, sales, new business implementation, start-ups, development of new technology and products, commercial contracts management, negotiations, business strategy, financial acumen, and people leadership in transformational times. Understanding balance sheet and general ledger. Ability to lead in transformational times Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills along with attention to detail Ability to prepare and present presentations to management. Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully. Proficient with MS office applications TPS knowledge preferred Ability to work with both full-time and temporary workforce.
Working Conditions :
Working conditions are normal for a warehouse and office environment. You will be subject to loud noises, and smells from equipment in the warehouse. Hours may vary due to departmental needs including working weekends. 50% travel time away from primary worksite is required.
