About Us:
Turner Transfer (the trucking division of Guy M. Turner Inc.) is seeking an individual to lead the company’s heavy haul trucking operation in Jacksonville FL. Turner has been in the business for 101+ years and is the largest privately owned crane, rigging, and heavy haul company in the United States. We operate 8 trucking terminals across the eastern US and are recognized for trucking oversized, overweight, and out-of-gauge machinery, cargo, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and lead the growth and daily coordination of Turner’s heavy haul trucking operation in Jacksonville FL. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with customers to ensure excellent customer service and long-term partnership success. Oversee daily operations focused on heavy haul, flatbed, and oversized loads. Handle dispatch and operations, including load planning and driver coordination. Ensure efficient use of company assets, including specialty trailers. If you have existing relationships with drivers or freight, that’s a plus, but not required. We’re seeking someone who can help Turner establish and grow the Jacksonville operation, with or without an existing book of business.
Requirements:
Experience in dispatch/operations for an asset-based trucking company and/or experience in asset-light, freight forwarding, or brokerage operations, ideally involving oversized or overweight freight. Experience with flatbed, heavy haul, or oversized trucking (a plus, but not required). Ability to coordinate and build strong working relationships with customers and drivers. Strong sales, business development, customer service, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
