Transportation Director Position Available In Jefferson, Florida

Transportation Director Jefferson & Madison County School Districts Monticello, FL Transportation Director for Jefferson & Madison County – Multi District Position Minimum of five years successful experience as a Transportation Director is required for this position. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the work of school district bus drivers, dispatchers and other responsible for the safe transportation of students. Duties include assigning work, scheduling employee work shifts and leave coverage, reviewing and approving time sheets, training or overseeing training of employees in work procedures including standards and safety practices, monitoring operations for compliance with safety standards, and contacting parents/guardians regarding transportation needs and/or concerns. This position coordinates with site administrators, program coordinators, and others to meet regular and special population student transportation needs, including after-school activities, athletic events, and field trips. This position is also responsible for evaluating, establishing, and balancing assigned routes to ensure that students are able to attend school regularly and on time. Regular collaboration with school and district administrators is required to present information on the transportation program and develop plans to meet transportation needs. The transportation director is also responsible for preparing and maintaining a variety of reports and records related to student transportation. Requires the ability to display knowledge of state laws that pertain to school transportation.

Job Goal:

The purpose of this position is to provide safe, efficient transportation for the school districts of Jefferson and Madison County. Madison County School Board has already approved an Memorandum of Understanding for this position. Jefferson County School Board will consider the approval of the MOU on June 23, 2025.

$65,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
