$40,000+ depending upon experience level.

Job Summary:

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the safe, efficient, and reliable transportation of students to and from school, as well as coordinating transportation for extracurricular activities. This role ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations while maintaining a high standard of safety and service.

Key Responsibilities:
Route Planning & Scheduling:

Develop and maintain bus routes, schedules, and stops to optimize efficiency and safety.

Student Safety & Supervision:

Ensure all transportation policies are followed, including student behavior management on buses.

Driver & Vehicle Management:

Recruit, train, and supervise bus drivers; oversee vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Compliance & Reporting:

Maintain records, ensure adherence to transportation laws, and submit required reports.

Budget & Cost Management:

Assist in budget planning for transportation needs, including fuel, maintenance, and personnel.

Emergency Response:

Develop and implement procedures for handling transportation-related emergencies.

Communication & Coordination:

Act as a liaison between school staff, parents, and transportation providers to address concerns and improve service.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Experience in school transportation management or logistics. Knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (preferred).
