Non-exempt This is a part time, 4 hour per day position.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Transportation Coordinator supports the Transportation Director in managing daily transportation operations across the school district. This includes overseeing scheduling, compliance, communication, clerical duties, and substitute driving when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma / Equivalent. Some college preferred.
Minimum three (3) years in a transportation-related field.
Valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills; maintains a professional demeanor and serves as a positive role model for staff.
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Establishes and monitors work assignments and work schedules.
Schedules vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Develops and implements an effective procedure for maintaining maintenance records.
Ensures the security of the facility, equipment, and supplies.
Provides clerical support to the Transportation Director, including answering phone calls and responding to emails.
Maintains CBI (Community-Based Instruction) trips and equipment for Elementary, Middle, and High School
Query all newly hired drivers for FMSCA
Assists the Transportation Director in providing safe, effective, and efficient transportation services to all eligible students.
Fill in as a sub-driver when regular drivers are absent.
Assists in scheduling all trips (field and athletic)
Complete transportation payroll monthly.
Complete and maintain all state-mandated reports.
Complete and maintain all driver reports and records (i.e., MVR reports, skills evaluations, bus evacuation drills)
Assists with maintaining and updating the routing program daily
Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting (50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 10% walking, and 80% standing.
