We are seeking a talented and dedicated Railroad Yard Master for one of our maintenance facilities in Geismar, LA to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the operations of a rail yard and assigning duties to workers Delegate work, provide directions, and keep records regarding schedules, routes, destinations, and cargo content Place and pull cars Switch inbound or outbound traffic Review train schedules Perform inspections and making repairs Ensure that all cargo and railcars safely reach their intended destinations in a timely fashion
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid TWIC card Around 5 years experience working with rail equipment in an industrial environment Able to work on feet for prolonged hours and walking on unlevel ground Good attention to detail and organization skills Strong knowledge of rail yard operations, safety regulations, and equipment maintenance Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of computers required We offer a rich benefit package including: health, dental, and vision coverage to keep you and your family healthy; a 401(k) plan with employer matching; supplementary benefits including short and long-term disability; access to counseling services and mental wellness programs; a salary that reflects your experience and performance, and much more!
