Are you an experienced professional in the logisticsindustry with a passion for leadership and coordination? If so, wehave an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicatedand dynamic individual to fill the role of Permanent TransportationManager for our 2nd shift. As a key member of our logistics team,you will be responsible for overseeing all transportation-relatedoperations during the evening hours, ensuring efficient andeffective delivery of goods and services. This is a full-time,permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefitspackage.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all 2nd shift transportationoperations, including planning, organizing, and managing thedispatch of commercial drivers. Ensure compliance with companypolicies, as well as local, state, and federal regulationsregarding transportation and driver operations. Develop andimplement strategies to improve operational efficiency and customersatisfaction. Manage and coordinate driver schedules, ensuringoptimal resource allocation and timely delivery of services.
Conduct regular driver assessments to ensure safety, efficiency,and compliance with performance standards. Prepare and presentdetailed reports on transportation operations, includingperformance metrics, operational issues, and proposed solutions.
Collaborate with other department managers to integrate logisticswith business systems or processes, such as customer sales, ordermanagement, accounting, or shipping. Resolve any transportation andlogistics issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption tooperations and services. Provide leadership, guidance, and supportto transportation team members, fostering a positive and productivework environment.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years ofexperience in a similar role, including commercial driver dispatch,driver management, reporting, driver assessment, and drivercoordination. Proven leadership and management skills, with theability to motivate and guide a team. Strong knowledge oftransportation and logistics principles, including local, state,and federal transportation regulations. Excellent problem-solvingabilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolvingoperational issues. Proficiency in using logistics andtransportation management systems and software. Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaiseeffectively with team members, drivers, and other stakeholders.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability tomanage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CommercialDriver’s License (CDL) is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in BusinessAdministration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
