Position Summary:
The Patient Transport Coordinator oversees the team that is responsible for escorting/transporting patients or deceased individuals within the hospital premises. The General Responsibilities for the Greeter/Switchboard Coordinator position include the following but may identify other responsibilities that the position can fulfill. Responsibilities can vary among accounts, depending on business necessities and Central Maine Healthcare requirements.
Essential Duties:
+ Acts as a source of Central Maine Healthcare knowledge for employees, customers, patients, and family members/visitors who seek information, directions, guidance, and assistance when on the premises. + Maintains effective interdepartmental, intradepartmental, and other external relationships and communications to foster a service attitude and to cooperatively provide the highest quality health care service + Assist with the hiring of patient transport team members. + Train new team members to the standard of practice for the transport role. + Will monitor team members engaging with patients throughout the hospital to assist with transport across the system to ensure standard/best practices and will escalate to the manager when appropriate. + Assists with monitoring team member turnover, overtime, and absenteeism for the department, and provides information to the manager on a regular basis. + Assists manager in developing standard work for all roles and responsibilities to ensure quality services and standard practice. + Assists with ongoing training for team members including orientation and in-services according to hospital policy and team member and organizational needs. + Master’s and leads by example all roles and responsibilities listed on the greeter and switchboard job descriptions.
Education and Experience:
+ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

+ Ability to maintain a positive attitude and display compassion, courtesy, and respect to all others. + Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential to the role. + Ability to communicate with customers, patients, co-workers, and other department contacts with professionalism and respect. + Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all co-workers, vendor and contractor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and Central Maine Healthcare representatives. + Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to patients, customers, co-workers, and all others that interact with them on a daily basis. + Ability to adhere to and follow/exercise guidelines pertaining to HIPAA laws and the proper handling and maintaining of an environment where protected health information (PHI) is safeguarded. + Ability to use a computer, smartphone/tablet, and other electronics/technology and communications devices where required. + Ability to use sound judgment to plan and accomplish tasks and goals. + Ability to learn and apply customer service/hospitality skills and techniques to help enhance the overall experience for customers, patients, family members, and co-workers. + Ability to follow and uphold all safety requirements and regulations for + Time management and scheduling skills are essential + In-person, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
