11/19/2024 12:42 PM The Director of School Transportation II administers a large and complex pupil transportation system for the which
services approximately 9,000 public school and 21,000 non public school students. Responsible to provide safe,
efficient, and economical transportation and to develop routes and bus stops. Schedules work assignments and
assigns personnel. Prepares cost estimates and specifications for contractual bus service and purchases; Oversees
in-service safety education training for bus drivers. Prepares preliminary budget estimates for total transportation
program including salaries, equipment, and service needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of administrative or management experience in transportation or traffic One (1) year of which must have involved passenger movement. Education beyond high school with a field of administration may be substituted for the general experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of five (5) years.

Residency in Rockland County is a requirement for this position
