Transportation Aide Position Available In Washington, New York

Transportation Aide Granville Central School 58 Quaker Street, Granville, NY 12832 : This is a position at a school district within the Transportation Department. This position reports to the Transportation Supervisor. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor in accordance with well-established policies and procedures. Supervision over the work of others is not the responsibility of this position. Does related work as required. : Aide the Transportation Supervisor on a daily basis with phone calls from parents regarding bus scheduling changes and contact appropriate party with schedule changes; Provide coverage in the transportation office when Transportation Director is off-site to oversee arrival and dismissal of buses; Receives phone calls from school bus drivers regarding their availability and forwards information to Transportation Supervisor for scheduling purposes; May have to transport students home, as needed; May assist in student management on bus routes; Disseminates information based on agency policy in response to telephone and in-person inquiries; May assist Building and Grounds department by answering phone calls from staff members; May distribute and follow-up on work order requests; Alphabetizes papers and folders for filing. : Good knowledge of the geography and traffic laws of the area; Ability to operate an automobile or school bus; Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; Ability to work independently; Tack and courtesy when dealing with parents and co-workers; Willingness to perform routine manual tasks; Mechanical aptitude; Dependability. – continued : Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. : Eligibility for the appropriate level New York State Driver’s License at time of application. Possession of license at time of appointment and must continue throughout appointment, a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License. : If the position involves the operation of school buses, candidates must satisfy the requirements for School Bus Driver as set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education, State Education Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law.
