The Allocator is a vital member of the team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehousing and transportation processes. This role involves allocating work assignments, directing truck drivers and lift truck operators, and managing both inbound and outbound paperwork. The Allocator must possess strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills to effectively coordinate activities and handle exceptions that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate work assignments to the crew and direct truck drivers to docks and various locations within the facility. Match loads to the appropriate trucks and maintain communication with the departing and arriving shifts. Effectively communicate with customer service and all internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to manage resources and meet deadlines. Display a willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changes in the work environment. Utilize email systems proficiently for effective communication. Maintain a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with others. Structure the workload to ensure smooth flow throughout the shift. Follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Show flexibility to assist on other shifts or locations when required. Take comprehensive and legible notes on relevant issues throughout the day. Processing of both inbound and outbound paperwork, handling any exceptions that arise. Directing the lift truck operators on their daily tasks. Perform additional duties as assigned or as needed, while keeping up with revisions and updates. Adhere to company policies and procedures, demonstrating knowledge and compliance.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in allocation, inventory management, or logistics planning. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed allocation decisions. Proficiency in using inventory management and allocation software systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in allocation processes. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing circumstances. Knowledge of transportation and logistics principles, including routing and load optimization. Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory control practices.
