Must be proficient in designating underground utilities with electromagnetic location equipment and in the use of ground penetrating radar (GPR). Experience with using non-destructive air-vacuum excavation equipment and related system components such as a jackhammer, tamper, concrete saw and hand tools for locating subsurface utilities is also required.

Careers | DRMP Your Primary Responsibilities will include Facilitate and attend safety meetings; follow safe work procedures. Operate vacuum excavation and geophysical equipment to accurately locate and designate underground utilities per industry standards. Interpret utility records, design plans, and as-builts using One Call systems and control point data. Coordinate field activities and communicate professionally with clients, property owners, and utility reps. Supervise and train crew members; assist with scheduling and inventory. Document field findings via sketches, reports, and photos. Conduct minor equipment and vehicle maintenance; maintain clean work sites. Perform basic math, measurements, and conversions. Implement Temporary Traffic Control (TTC/MOT) when required. Lift up to 75 lbs. and walk long distances over varied terrain while carrying equipment. Travel up to two weeks at a time to support projects at other DRMP offices. What you’ll need Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, per DRMP insurance requirements. CDL is preferred, but not required. Pass pre-employment drug screen. Ability to communicate effectively, has technical aptitude, capable of working in team environment or independently. 6+ years of SUE experience, or related fields, such as utility locating or geophysics Ability to obtain OSHA certifications, DOT medical card, or other industry certifications. Standards, Common Ground Alliance’s Best Practices and Florida State Statute 556 Ability to receive verbal and written instructions with a professional demeanor Understanding of APWA color codes Experience in supervising others is preferred Previous experience with AutoCAD/Microstation preferred, but not required Ability to work standard operating hours consistently (night work and/or overtime may be necessary). Land Surveying experience a plus.
