Job Summary:

As an Irrigation Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of irrigation technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for commercial, private, and public properties. You will ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. A valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience is essential for transporting crew members, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.

Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and supervise a crew of irrigation technicians. Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow. Provide on-the-job training and guidance to crew members. Foster a positive and safe work environment. Resolve conflicts and address crew member concerns. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, and wiring. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and irrigation plans. Perform accurate layout and material calculations. Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation system issues. Ensure all work is performed to company standards and project specifications. Safely operate landscaping and irrigation equipment, including trenchers, backhoes, skid steers, and other tools. Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and report any issues. Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and materials. Safely operate company vehicles (trucks, trailers) to transport crew, equipment, and materials to and from job sites. Maintain vehicle condition and perform routine inspections. Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies. Prepare and clean job sites, ensuring a safe and organized work area. Enforce safety protocols and ensure crew members use proper PPE. Conduct safety meetings and address potential hazards. Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines. Complete and submit accurate daily and weekly paperwork, including time sheets, safety reports, and equipment inspection forms. Receive and verify shipments to job sites. Communicate effectively with project superintendents and clients. Maintain professional communication with clients on-site. Address customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and courteous manner.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in irrigation installation and maintenance. Proven experience leading and supervising irrigation crews. Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving history. Strong knowledge of irrigation system components and installation techniques. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and irrigation plans. Experience operating and maintaining landscaping and irrigation equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Additional qualifications:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50+ pounds). Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and squat for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
