Crew Leader, Code EnforcementAnnual Salary Range:
$34,651.03 – $41,589.91

20The City of Alexandria is seeking professional individuals to begin a career in the Code Enforcement Department, located in the heart of Central Louisianatoperform technical tasks as a lead member of a crew on an assigned shift performing various grounds maintenance, landscape and litter removal tasks in support of the Codes Enforcement Department of the City of Alexandria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, trains and provides instruction and guidance as a lead member of a crew performing landscape and grounds maintenance as well as litter removal for the Codes Enforcement Department on an assigned shift. Monitors work in progress and insure compliance with established standards; advises crews in techniques and practices; reviews reports; prepares requests for materials and supplies.
Maintains inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies; orders materials and equipment needed for each job; performs routine safety inspections on equipment; advises supervisor of needed repairs.
Prepares and processes paperwork and reports as required by department policy and procedure; maintains files and employee records as required; reviews zoning maps and other documents to complete assigned tasks.
Operates a variety of heavy equipment and machinery to complete tasks including a tractor, bush hog, weedeater, blower, chainsaw, front-end loader, service truck and related equipment; utilizes a measuring wheel, ruler and basic hand tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years of experience performing grounds maintenance and routine landscape tasks and experience in the operation of equipment used in landscaping and grounds maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Will be required to obtain and maintain specialized certifications and/or training as deemed necessary. •Must possess and maintain a valid Class B drivers license with air brakes.•Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana Class A commercial driverslicense with air brakes within five (5) months of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.
Applicants must be able to operate a bush-hog and backhoe.
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week;may work overtime, including holidays and weekends.
